What if . . .

Strategic Planning is all about scenarios for unknown futures.  Organizations must change to keep up with changes in their environment. I guide these changes as we work together toward your success.

What if . . . ?

I'm Doug Ross, Ph.D., your planning and change expert. Yes, I'm the person who will help you and your staff ask and answer the questions that are most important to the future of your particular company or organization. I then take those answers and create a customized strategic plan with you. It is said that we never plan to fail, so let's not fail to plan! As a CEO, ED, or small business entrepreneur you may be so preoccupied with the immediate issues of running your business that it is hard to keep your ultimate long-term vision in sight. That is where an extended plan comes in. A strategic plan is a plan that looks into the future to help you achieve success and protect your organization from the "what ifs" by planning proactively with a clear and actionable set of tactics to be implemented when needed. This type of planning is continuously updated in yearly increments. "Never be an also ran, get help from the Planning Man!" That's me!

Your strategic plan should:

  • Be an ongoing process
  • Be carefully crafted by your leadership team
  • Be clearly communicated to all stakeholders, including employees
  • Be integrated with your organization's systems and routines, i.e., its culture

Other questions you might be asking yourself may include:

Q. Am I a big enough business or organization to really need a strategic plan?
A. We think every business needs a strategic plan.

Q. Wouldn’t that be a really expensive process?
A. We customize the cost to meet your needs and budget.

Q. Why do I need an external consultant to facilitate the strategic planning process and help implement the finished plan?
A. You CAN do it yourself, but you will benefit from an objective "new eyes" perspective and facilitative skills (See article on Facilitation).
